Why is group therapy beneficial?
Group therapy is the treatment of multiple individuals in a group setting by a clinician. Research has shown it to be effective in treating a variety of conditions, meeting numerous needs, and can be utilized for all ages. Individuals that join a therapy group will participate in treatment with other similar aged individuals that share the same concerns, experiences, and needs.
People who participate in group therapy counseling develop a sense of belonging and are able to see that they are not alone in what they are experiencing. It is a safe space where one can develop a support system while socializing and communicating with other group members.
